New, must-have IBM i capabilities available now from SoftLanding

A very busy year for the SoftLanding development team has delivered a whole stack of new features right across the IBM i product range. Please read on for the highlights and look out for further announcements through 2015.

Just released: a new AUTOMON® for iSchedule feature for flowcharting job dependencies takes the guesswork out of job scheduling. Also available later in 2015: a new AUTOMON® for iConsole browser interface, allowing 'anywhere, anytime' message management using PCs, tablets and mobile devices.

• The TURNOVER® software change management solution now includes the option to install into iASPs (Independent Auxilliary Storage Pools), providing essential support for your high-availability requirements. Integration with newer versions of the LANSA and CA 2E development environments is provided, as is also the case with ABSTRACT and PATHFINDER, cross-reference tools for HelpSystems and Hawkeye respectively.
• The latest SUPERMON® for iSeries performance monitoring solution lets you hold your IBM i performance data off-platform, so you can save money by making use of low-cost storage solutions. Plus: a new automated report scheduling facility saves you time and manual effort, while powerful graphical modelling assists capacity planning
• The AUTOMON® suite has introduced many new features for efficient automated operations throughout the enterprise. Headline features include:
  • AUTOMON® for iConsole message management - now allows message filtering rules to be copied across multiple instances, to save time and avoid manual errors
  • AUTOMON® for iMessage automated messaging - now supports SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) Internet messaging for sending SMS messages to mobile devices
  • AUTOMON® for iSchedule advanced job scheduler - provides secure auditing, and allows rapid distribution of schedules across your IBM i network
• CENTRAL® for iMenu, now offers support for iASP installations. Auditing enhancements, additional APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and enhancements around User Defined Parameters are also available in the latest cumulative release of this advanced menu management solution.
